Vaso-Vagal Discussion

My cardiologist suggested drinking Gatorade when I felt the VV epiode coming on.  It has helped tremendously.  I keep bottles of the stuff in the car, bathroom etc.  I've even been able to completely stop the episode if I drink some and lie down with my feet elevated for a little while.  I was skeptical at first but the quick hydration plus salt and electrolytes in it really did help.  I also suspect my VV is triggered by an allergic reaction to codeine but do not see the allergist for a few weeks yet.  It's interesting that an allergy to codeine has all the same symptoms as a full blown VV episode.  I've been suffering from this for about 2 years and had a positive tilt table test.  It's scary but I am trying to cope.
