vagal'd out

last week, I had a "virtual colonoscopy" by CT scan, which involves blowing air into the colon to distend it for a better view. Immediately following the procedure, I had a horrifying reaction that I now know is "vagaling" or "vagaling out." I thought I was going to die. I've scheduled a visit with my physician to discuss, and warned him via eMail not to patronize me! He promised not to, but says that most doctors don't get too worked up about this condition because "it's not life threatening." Well - it sure as hell feels life threatening when you're going through it! And if you've ever "vagaled out," DON'T have a virtual colonoscopy until next year - when the technology will appparently progress beyond the need for the introduction of air into the colon. So glad to find some useful information about VasoVagal online. Thanks!
