Denise, I am a 23 year-old college student and have also been diagnosed with V-V. My Dr. told me to lay down everytime I feel faint to prevent from blacking out and to allow my blood to naturally flow to my head. This really does prevent blacking out and if I am laying down I can at least tell people not to worry and that it will pass in a moment. If she is embarrassed, tell her that college students do weird things all the time and she won't get picked on for laying down in the hallway or student union or even in class if she has confidentially told the professor her situation. I feel faint often towards the end of my period especially after eating large meals. Hope this helps and tell her I said good luck and hang in there!
