I have had V-V for 10 years. My attacks always began with extreme abdominal pain followed by profuse sweating , lose of blood preasure , and sometimes lose of consiousness. The worst was in 1994. My heart stopped for 2 minutes until i was layed in a prone position allowing the blood flow to return to my upper body. I was terrified and refused to eat for days. My husband took me to a DR. who said it was 'ALL IN MY HEAD'. It took a year after that to get a diagnosis. My attacks are frequent. Sometimes 2 a week. I have a new husband and I wont let him in the room when i have the attacks. Its humiliating enough to loose bowel control and be a helpless lump on the floor. Letting him wittness this is more than I can take. My biggest concern now is my job as a driver going miles into 'nowhere" with a crew of railroad workers. What if this happens then? They will have no clue what to do for me. Its terrifiying and no one but the afflicted understand.
