my name is jamie lee, and i'm 15 years old. i was diagnosed with vasa-vagal syndrome several years ago after 2 incidents where i passed out and went into convulsions after extreme pain. whenever i hurt myself i feel dizzy and have to lie down although i've never passed out beyond the 2 times i mentioned before. my mom was also diagnosed with this, and she has never had convulsions but has passed out countless times. lately what's been happening to me is that i will wake up in the middle of the night and my whole body is numb and i'm very dizzy and can't sit up...this lasts probably 15-20 minutes and usually i fall asleep again but may wake up again after another hour or so and it disturbs my sleep the whole night. i went through several blood tests and other things, which all checked out normal; i was told it was probably related to the vaso-vagal problems i've had before. does this sound familiar to anyone? i was also told it could be related to a heart murmer which i've had since i was born. any input would be much appreciated! thanks :)
