Re: Salt Helps Me

Maria - Don't be concered about him eating lots of salt. One of the things that causes people to have VV episodes is a genetic predisposition NOT to retain salt. If he is not retaining enough salt then he is not getting too much. It is only the obsessive nature of the media that has persuaded us that 'lots of salt is bad'. We are all different and have different needs. Your son needs his salt - just as I need mine. Don't let widely accepted truths cause you to worry. Worry more about persuading him as a teenager that he has to watch his diet.

P.S. My doctor told me that is is possible to out-grow VV so your son may be lucky.
