It's not often that I come across someone who's diagnosed with vaso-vagal syncope. This month with mark the third year of life with a pacemaker, and I am thankful that I have it. I'm surprised to hear that increased intake of salt is recommended. I guess I don't really have problems with symptoms anymore. I take a beta blocker and my pacemaker is only activated 3% of the time. The rest of the time, my heart beats on its own. This is good news, of course. A a senior in high school, however, the scar left from surgery is unsettling. I guess it's the price I pay for being alive, eh?
