vaso vagal syndrome

I have been having these attacks off and on since I was 32yrs old (I am now 81) The past two years they have been more frequent. The doctors didn't have a clue what it was until the past few months. In April I had one and when I fell I broke my ankle, then 2 weeks later I had another, then I broke 3 ribs. This time they called in a cardi- ologist, who ran all kinds of test, including a tilt table test. He finally came to the conclusion as to what it was. I have had hypertension for many years and been on medication for it. It seems as if my blood pressure goes real high and then takes a sudden drop to a dangerous low, thus the fainting. He changed my medication to lopressor and accupril, along with a diuretic, and added paxil. This happened about May 1, and I have not had another attack since. I hope this information will help in the discovery of the cause or treatment of this horrible condition. Thank you for this opportunity to share.
