Cold water, and the beach

My first attack happened at the beach after coming out of the water. I live in MA so the ocean water is not as warm as Florida, Cal. so anyways I am going to the beach for a week and I am scared to go in the water because of what happened before. Has this ever happened any one else? I am scared because when this happen I blacked out on a bench fell off and fell off a cement wall, then landing on a cement ground, and I stopped breathing while have a seizure. But I love the Ocean soo much, any comments, ideas, any one els who is effected by cold wate. Thanks
