I had a pacemaker put in about four months ago for Malignant VV syncope. I was diagnosed finally with a tilt test where my heart stopped for 14 seconds. My doctor at the time said that if my heart had only stopped for up to 6 seconds than no need for a pacemaker but more than that, a pacemaker is required. It hasn't stopped my attacks but I don't pass out for as long and my heart is kick started in 15 seconds of it's drop. The pacemaker op is simple and it is a comfort to know that I'm not going to drop dead one night.
