VV attacks while sleeping

I've recently had a pacemaker fitted for malignant VV, my pacemaker is set on rate response so only comes in when my heart stops. Since having it implanted the majority of my attacks happen when I'm sleeping and totally unaware of it. Does anyone know why I would be having attacks while asleep.
