I was playing softball on Sunday night. I sprained my ankle while running from 1st to 3rd base. I was helped off the field and layed down in the dugout. I was helped out of the dugout onto a bence. Laying on the bench, I started to get dizzy. When I sat up, it felt like everything was moving from left to right. My wife, an orthopaedic Nurse took me across the street to the hospital which is a local trauma center for 3 counties. While I was sitting in the wheel chair being admitted, I felt extremely nautious. The RN checking me in kept asking me questions of which I felt took nautious to answer. She then took my blood pressure and it was 75 over 43. Remember, I came in to have my foot x-rayed. Immediately, they took me on a gurney into ER and layed me down. They took the blood pressure again and it was 105 over 68. It was a strange feeling. My whole body was soaking wet. It felt like all life was coming out of my arms and they told me that I turned white. I am very dark because I sit out at the pool everyday. Needless to say, they diagnosed this condition as Vaso-Vagal or stress related. It was bizarre. Thank You.
