Sounds nearly identical to my situation. I've never been able to stop an episode once it starts, but I have learned to cut the severity and length. I just DO NOT get up when I feel it coming on (usually wakes me from sleep). I know that's so difficult when you feel your bowels are going to explode, but I've never lost control of them - or my bladder - because I lay very still, with my knees pointed up, and try to breathe slowly. My husband immediately puts the ceiling fan on high and bathes me with an ice-cold rag (I sweat profusely and feel horrible flashes of heat throughout my body). He soothes me during the attack by talking softly and praying for me. After a while the dizziness and nausea subside, then I carefully walk to the bathroom. I've had many attacks the old way, which always ended with waking up to my frantic husband yelling my name. I've always had someone with me when these occur, so I don't know what I'd do if I was alone. As far as treatment, I've been told to increase salt intake and drink lots of water. Best of luck.
