I work at a local amusement park and I have been sick with a bacterial infection for the past week. Yesterday, I was loading guests into a ride. The day before I had been dizzy and nauseated. I felt dizzy and nauseated again for about ten minutes, then I blacked out and fell and hit my head. I came to right when I hit my head, but I vomited as soon as I stood up. The EMT's took my blood pressure and it was high for me. I went to the emergency room and they hooked me up to a heart monitor, catheter, and did a ct scan. They said I was dehydrated and had a mild concussion. The doctor today said that I had a Vaso Vagal episode and that it could happen again since I work in the heat. How can I prepare my coworkers in the event that it happends again? Should they call the EMT's everytime it happends? Also many of the people described their symptoms as low blood pressure. Is that always the case? Mine was high. I would appreciate any input!! Thanks, Michelle
