I'm from Scotland and like your Mum have been having a hard time getting diagnosed. I don't have blue lips when i pass out (I don't think) but it is probably lack of oxygen caused by the blood pooling. I have just found out that a hospital in Newcastle is the one that pioneered the Tilt Table Test so it is recognised in this country, but not seemingly by the many GP's and specialists around the country. There are other sites dedicated to this condition. Try a google.com search. Thats what I did and I got so much info my Dr has now taken me seriously. Hope you find some results.
