I am a 58 year old white male who is on the following medications (since 1995) for panic attacks & depression: Clonazepam, Zoloft, & Hydroxyzine however, I have not had a full-blown panic attack since Dec. 1998. While I was donating blood the other day (I last donated blood in Nov. 1998 with no reprecussions) and as the attendant was finishing the procedure I started to sweat profusely, felt nauseated, started to shake uncontrollably, turned white as a ghost, and passed out on the table for about 30 seconds to a minute and was given oxygen, cold packs in back of the neck and my legs were raised. An ambulance was called to take me to the E.R. of a hospital were I stayed overnite to monitor my condition with several E.K.G's and blood pressure readings taken during this period. Upon discharge the next day they said the E.K.G. was within a normal ramge amd that the condition appeared to be vaso-vagal. Does anyone know how to diagnose a "panic attack" from "vaso-vagal? Thank you. Gary
