The driving part is what scares me the most. I also have had episodes while driving, usually brought on by a near accident, or seeing another car involved in one. The best course of action I have found is to realize the symptoms are coming on, and find a place to pull over immediately. Even if the episode is not a full blown faint, you will be better off and so will the general public.
Learning to live with this...is possibly the best defense we have.
