I'm convinced that each time I faint, I have a brush with death. Here's my story:

I began VV episodes when I was about 5 years old and have continued fainting a couple of times a year throughout my lifetime. I have had at least 50-75 episodes, if not more. Recently I was diagnosed from a tilt-table test & other diagnostics as a "malignant" case--which means that my heart stops (bradycardia) during a fainting episode.

I have some very distinct memories from childhood that now corroborate that I must be having near-death experiences. While unconscious, I would see what I privately referred to, in my childlike innocence and ignorance, as "my movies." I'd see a series of scenes rolling past my eyes, and while I couldn't remember them clearly when revived, the scenes were familiar and comforting to me. As a matter of fact, I used to say as I was being revived by either water or slapping or smelling salts, "Please, let me stay a little longer." I really didn't want to return to consciousness. If I was too out of it to actually say thesee words, I clearly thought them. (To this day, while I want to come out of the episode there is still a part of me that would be happier slipping back into this seductive blackout state.

In addition, at the point of returning to consciousness, I would experience fleeting but intense amnesia. I didn't know who I was or where I was.

As an adult, it has been quite unsettling for me to connect the fact that I now have medical proof that my heart stops w/ experiences that seem to be very simialr to what I have read about people who have returned to life from a near-death experience.

Has anyone had a similar experience?
