Yes, after receiving a mild anaesthetic prior to having contact lenses fitted I experienced exactly the same thing - we tried on three different occassions with the same result - we never thought it might be related to anaesthetic - however after visiting my dentist and relating the experience he mentioned it might be anaesthetic related. Many years later I was having tests for Lasik eye surgery and a few seconds after receiving the anaesthetic for one of the tests I had the same experience, off-balance, dizzy, sweating, darkness and serious bowel movement thereafter.
