Many patients are being treated with a pacemaker for severe VVS. WHen we faint our heart rate and B/P drop like a brick. The pacer works by speeding the heart up when it senses a rate below a certain level, in that we don't faint just feel like we will and by that we can compensate to aleviate the symptoms....... Sounds pretty drastic but those that have been suffering for years have had a very high success rate. And of course there are those that have the pacer for a couple of years then they start with fainting again, that I do not understand why it happens. There is always the increase in salt and fluid diet, magnesium and potassium supplements too. There are many sites on the net about Pacer therapy for VVS...One is at medtronic......Try your search engines....www.northernlight.com is awesome for this search. Good luck all.....
