My first reaction happened when I got a booster shot in a doctor's office at 14 years old. As I left the office I fainted and fell down a few stairs. At neneteen I visited the doctor for a sore throat and left in an ambulance after fainting and having what appeared to be a seizure. After numerous tests I was assured that it was not epilepsy but a vago-vagus response. I also fainted in the theater after I banged my elbow and had a feeling of heat and nausea. This was about two years later. On my honeymoon I seizured on the beach after being bitten by something in the ocean. When I have a fever I sometimes will pass out but only at the onset. I am very afraid that this will happen as I seem to have no control over it. Usually, if I warn the doctor who is examining me for whatever I am o.k. One day I passed out at the clinic when my son was having a strep test! However, when he broke his leg last year I was a pillar of strength. The only advice I have received is to put my head down when I feel an episode coming on and sit down. I am now 45 and have not fainted for about a year but I know that I am still susceptible. Any comments or suggestions?
