I am hoping someone may be able to help me with this. I have experienced panic attacks for many years. However, I've noticed something different over the past several months. I have noticed that I begin to experience a sensation that I identify as a "panic attack", but it occurs within minutes before I need to have a bowel movement. My vision becomes distorted, I'm dizzy, nauseous, my heart palpitates, I begin to sweat and shake. I'm wondering if these symptoms could possibly be associated with bowel movements and if this is a Vaso-Vagal response of some kind?
I have never actually fainted, though I have felt close to it many times. I usually lie down for fear of falling. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated :)
Thanks

Within the last year I've developed this odd problem. I experience pain and cramping during a bowel movement (my already diagnosed irritable bowel syndrome), but what is different now is that I've been passing out during these episodes. I understand that passing out can be because of extreme pain, but why now?? I've had irritable bowel my whole life, but without the fainting.I don't want to go out to restaurants, I'm even afraid of working. My doctors have said it's kind of a mystery, if anyone out there has this same sort of problem, please reply.
