Vasovagal Syncopy

Comments

I was just diagnosed with vasovagal syncopy and I am 25 weeks pregnant. My fainting spells started when I was about 11 weeks pregnant, and they have only become more frequent. I have only blacked-out completely two times, and about two-times a week I come close, but find ways to stop it...almost. It is very scary because both times I've blacked-out, I have been on the train and I come to because some stranger is trying to sit me down or give me candy. Obviously the scare is doubled because I am pregnant, and I worry about the health of my baby. My doctor has prescibed Atendol, but I am hesitant to fill the presciprtion because of the side effects I have read about. Anyway, I am hoping that things right now will not get worse, but improve. Each day I will try to learn a little bit more about this "condition", because right now, I do not feel like I know enough.
