My Dad has recently been started on Florinef .1mg daily. He had diagnostic blood tests and was told that he does not have addison's disease but has adrenal insufficiency and possibly pituitary insufficiency. He is 80 years old. He falls frequently and has fainting spells as well as salt cravings. I thought adrenal insufficiency was addison's disease. Can someone explain the difference? My Dad was diagnosed by his cardiologist. Should I take him to another doctor?
