atenolol to control vaso vagal syncope

i got diagnosed with vaso vagal suncope about 3 weks ago, i got put on atenolol pills 25mg to start with for 2 weeks however i showed absolutly no improvement and continused to faint regularly last week they got increased to 50mg and since then i have noticed a slight improvement but i am still get bad dizzy spells does any one use atenolol and do they work if not what else do you suggest?
