I have had these problems since I was a teen. I am now 37 years old and have had this happen recently. Everytime it has occured it was during my menstrual cycle. When I was a teen it happened at least 4 times. I was incontinent once. I was finally treated with tegretal(sp?) as an epileptic even though they were never able to prove I had epilepsy. I discontinued the medication when I went to college without notifying my doctor. I did not experience any more problems until I experienced some lower back pain. Again, I was having my period. I passed out in the bathroom from the pain I supposed. I also passed out cold while lying down having a procedure done in a hospital. I was having trouble getting pregnant and they were checking my tubes with dye. When I felt some cramping, out I went. Since then I have had 2 successful pregnancies with no problems. I started having back pain again this last year and a few weeks ago, I had what the doctor has called a back spasm and I nearly passed out. I knew what was about to happen, so I went to our school nurse (I'm a teacher) and she had me lie down. She listened to my heart and did not notice anything unusual, she then took my blood pressure and it was 84/48. She told me I needed to see a doctor and that I was having a vagal response. This was the first I had ever heard of such a thing. The doctor did some blood work and suspects a thyroid problem and I am awaiting more test results. This is interesting info. I wonder is there any kind of treatment?
