Do you get very nauseated prior to your syncope episode? I also have a pacemaker, my heart stopped for approximately 20 seconds. I feel they fixed the end result but not the problem. I am a 43 year old female and was sometimes feeling sorry for myself because felt I was way too young to be having this kind of problem. Here you are 15, I am so sorry my dear. Take care and May God Bless you.

This is the first time I have read anything about V-V syndrome, although I have been experiencing it since I was 18(I'm 32 now.) I pass out, usually, in specific situations, like going for an annual pap smear. I have also passed out by reading medical material or listening to medical shows on the radio. Recently, I had a miscarriage very early in a pregnancy and totally had a HUGE vaso-vagle reaction in the ER. My bloodpressure and heart rate dropped extremely low. The sweat just poured out of me. I was so freezing cold that the nurses and doctors put 6 heated blankets on me and I still shook so hard I was shaking the hospital bed. That was the worst time...but the actual event of my miscarriage was not very traumatic(obviously I was upset, it was a planned pregnancy, but there was not a lot of blood and I was only 7 weeks along.) The whole time, the doctors and nurses are looking at me like I'm a drug addict, asking me what I was "on." Through the oxygen mask, i was trying to tell them, "No, really, I do this all the time I go to the doctors office." They did not know what to think of me, like I was totally over-reacting. I have been going to a therapist to work on relaxation and I usually can predict the type of situation when the attacks will happen-usually once or twice a year. I never lose control of bladder or anything like that. Once, after a pap smear, the nurse told me I had a petit mal seizure. BUT, I have the strangest feeling when I wake up from passing out. I get this feeling of peace, calm , energy and clarity, like I am flooded with endorphins. When I wake up, I feel great, awake, alive. Anyone else have that happen to them? Thanks!

Increased episode with V V during pregnancy, normal?

I was diagnosed with vaso-vagal a little over a year ago. It was a long process that took a year and several specialists to diagnose. I have had some pretty scary attacks both before and after. The cardiologist that diagnosed me assured me that it would never happen while I was driving or just sitting. I am five months pregnant and recently started to have the "starts" of an attack, anywhere and several times in an hour. I have the heart palpatations and lose my breath for a second, then it stops. Is this still vaso-vagal? My OBGYN said that everything has change so much during pregnancy that it is likly that it has just gotten worse and that I shouldn't worry. I haven't had a full attack since I have been pregnant, if one occurs, can it harm the baby in any way? Not many doctors seem to know what this is or what is ok and what is not. I don't know whether to take his word for it or not.
