A big thanks to everyone for posting - it's nice to know that you are not alone.

I have just been positively diagnosed with v-v after having a tilt table test, which was a follow up to a fainting episode on Halloween. I felt the episode coming on after 15 minutes on the table at 60 degrees. I alerted the nurse and they brought me down so I didn't loose concisions. After resting 5 minutes back up to 60 deg. and out again after 5 min. As I understand it as soon as my blood pressure goes below a certain point the v-v kicks in.

I'm 36 and have been having episodes since my teens. They happen about once every 3 to 5 years. Usually I would get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and pass out right after finishing. Most of my episodes have occurred either while dieting or when sick, over Halloween I was coming off the two-week induction phase of the Atkins diet. I can feel them coming on, my ears ring, my head buzzes and my eyes start to close in but unfortunately I don’t think fast enough to do anything.

With the last 2 episodes upon regaining consciousness to my heart has been in Atrial Fribuation, last time I spent the night in ICU because they thought I was going to have a stroke. In fact the tilt table test was ordered by my cardiologist trying to figure out if I had arrhythmia. The doctor is recommending ‘wait and see’ which I’m O.K. with but I wish I knew about more what the causes are.
