I have had 2 such episodes in the last year and was diagnosed with vasovagal as a child. I am now 27 years old. The last episode, I thought it was gas. I had a bowel movement and felt dizzy. I knew what was going to happen, but was afraid to get off the toilet for fear of what may have come out of me while in "Never Never Land" My wife heard me hit the floor and start making some sort of gutteral vocalization like a mix between a whine, a growl and a pant. I think she described it as the sound of a hairball being produced. I always try to pinpoint the cause or trigger and I think it was a combination of stress (New baby, New House, and first week at a new job,) and some bad summer sausage (Thus the gas pains) Hope I helped somehow. Vaso Vagel Syndrome

I too have suffered many "episodes" where I would feel faint and sometimes would. My blood pressure would suddenly drop as low as 58/42. After careful monitoring, I noticed it was always during my time of ovulation. After seeing many physicians, I finally found one who could give it a name, "Vaso-Vagel Syndrome". What a relief to know it had a name. I am 31 years old, and can remember having these episodes during my early teenage years. I have no heart or circulatory problems and my blood glucose and thyroid are normal. While being treated for depression with Zoloft, these episodes decreased in number and severity. Now, if I feel it coming on I start to crave salt and grab something salty, quick.

Don't read this unless you think your crazy!?!

so who know what the hell they have goin on inside them. I know my doctor did a zillion tests on me and everything came out normal (however i have not had a table tilt test), so my doctor thinks i have this. I read a lot of the writings in the forum, and it seems as though everyone is around there late thirties or older-- well I am only 22 and I have had spells since I was 17 yrs old. I never got to the point of fainting until recently. I would always start off getting really hot, then feeling as though I have to go to the bathroom to have a bowl movement, start sweating perfusely, extremely dizzy light headed, blurred vision, i just wanted to sleep, i get so weak. My stomach sometimes feels as though there is something dying inside of me, when I tell people that they have no idea what i am talking about and look at me as though i am crazy, but i don't think i am. so anyway does anyone know what i am talking about???? someone say they do so i dont think i am losing my mind. Thanks! Miss Cleo
