Hi. I just wanted to write you a little letter to tell you that I was recently diagnosed with Vaso Vagal Syncope. I am only seventeen and I have been sick with this for about two years now. It started out that I was in Europe and started to pass out for no apparent reason so they flew me home and put me in a hospital in Pennsylvania, where I live. I was in the hospital for an about two weeks and then they let me go home. They first told me that I had an anxiety disorder and that I'm to emotional. I was told this by the neurologist. So that's what we thought it was until I started to pass out in school. I hit my head a number of times because I tried to walk to the office but collapsed. I would go to the hospital by ambulance. When I would arrive at the hospital, everything would check out normal and I would go home. I would be really tired for the next couple of days because when I would pass out, I would hyperventilate. So the doctor then diagnosed me with Acute Hyperventilation Syndrome. But again, it wasn't that. I pass out a couple more times and finally, I went to a hospital called Hershey Medical Center, Hershey Pennsylvania. I was there for an hour before they told me I had Vaso Vagal Syncope. I am now seventeen, I'm a senior in high school and also a cheerleader. I have not had one problem since they told me all I had to do is have a lot of salt and drink a lot of water. They also told me if I ever do pass out again, just to have them lay me out straight because the water in my body would go back to normal. But I am back doing all the things I would do before I go sick. I just wanted to share that with you because I was looking up information to keep me posted and I saw your web site. Thanks, Jennifer

HI, I HAVE HAD SOME SCARY THINGS GOING ON SINCE AUGUST. I AM AWAKENED SUDDENLY AND ITS ALL I CAN DO TO GET TO THE BATHROOM. I FEEL LIKE I AM GOING TO EXPLODE. I HAVE EVERYTHING I CAN DO TO GET TO THE BATHROOM IN TIME. I USUALLY PASS OUT WHILE ON THE TOILET AND LAND ON THE FLOOR . I WAKE IN A PROFUSE SWEAT FROM HEAD TO TOE. I JUST WANT TO LAY ON THE COLD CERAMIC FLOOR AND GET MYSELF TOGETHER . I DON'T EVEN MOVE FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. ITS AWFUL! I RECENTLY WENT THRU A COLONOSCOPY TEST AND THE DR. DOING THE TEST SUGGESTED THAT I MAY HAVE V V. I NEVER HEARD OF IT UNTIL THAT DAY. I AM DESPERATELY SEEKING THE RIGHT DIAGNOSIS,SINCE THIS REALLY IS CONCERNNG TO ME. MY REGULAR DR. IS RUNNING ALL KINDS OF TESTS ON ME JUST TO RULE OUT OTHER THINGS,BUT,AFTER READING SOME OF THE ARTICLES IN HERE,I AM QUITE SURE THAT I TOO HAVE VASO VAGAL. GOOD LUCK & GOD BLESS. TRYING TO GET HELP

I am on pro-amatine and have been for about a year and a half when I was originally diagnosed. I started with 5mgs. every 4 hours and am up to 15mgs. every 3 hours. I feel a lot better than without medication but still have symptoms and bad symptorms sometimes. I understand from a friend of the family who is a electro physiologist that my current dose is very high. I was considering trying something else but am worried about side effects such as fatigue from other drugs. Any thoughts for other treatments?
