Possible Vaso-Vegal DX

From: Bigdogs65@aol.com

Comments

I am 33yrs old, 5'4", 117lbs. Low BP (especially during my two pregnancies) NEVER had an episode during either pregnancy. In Oct 2002, I blacked-out, from a sitting position, and saw my Dr. He asked my symptons-you know-stomach cramp, dizzyness, extreme hotness, sweating, etc... He has given me the 'prelimanry Dx of vaso-vegal'. I had another episode last Friday, shopping at Wal-Mart, but was able to get myself to a chair & it passed w/o me blacking-out all the way.I have had maybe 5 episodes in 10yrs. Each time, I have been under EXTREME stress and FATIGUE. Could the stress be triggering the stomach cramp & the vaso-vegal? A friend of mine, who works for a pediatric neurologist, suggested high water intake & salty foods as part of my regular diet. I am incorporating that now. My biggest concern/dilema/fear is the revocation of driving priveleges...Selfish? maybe. But my hubby & I are self-employed, so driving is a necessity for me. Any/all comments would be appreciated

On Sabbatical!

When my office lease expired at the end of 2004, I decided to turn it into a "sabbatical" from my private practice. Many years ago, in my grandfather's 89th year of life, he told me, "John, it is important to smell the roses while you can still smell them." His life gave living a very good reputation. It is also true that the pursuit of that philosophy required my grandfather to to re-open his assay office/ore market in Wickenburg, Arizona as a 75-year-old because he had run a little short of retirement money. Thus, if blessed with his luck and health, I'll be back.. --jjh
