Was recently diagnosed with V-V

I recently went to a surgeon who had me fill out a medical history sheet before surgery. While in his office, he asked me about fainting spells that I had put on the medical sheet. He asked me about them and I told him that I did not know why I fainted, however, I had done this since I was 10 years old and I am now 43. I explained to him that I had been to numerous drs and had every test imagineable ran and to no avail. One dr even said that I made myself faint. Yeah!!! Right!!! Well he mentioned that my symptoms sounded like V-V. I immediately went home and got on the net and guess what - it's me in a nutshell. I had not known anyone with the same condition and I was lost. Even though there is no cure - at least I know what I have and that in itself is peace of mind. I pass out when I get overheated, get sick, and such. I have had incontinence and have no control except that I know it's going to happen right before it does. I know now that I have to get down to the floor no matter where I am when an episode comes on. I have many instances where I have hurt myself from passing out and it is not fun. There is no rhyme or reason and to how many times I pass out or when. I am really glad that I have found out what is wrong with me. It's a relief.

On Sabbatical!

When my office lease expired at the end of 2004, I decided to turn it into a "sabbatical" from my private practice. Many years ago, in my grandfather's 89th year of life, he told me, "John, it is important to smell the roses while you can still smell them." His life gave living a very good reputation. It is also true that the pursuit of that philosophy required my grandfather to to re-open his assay office/ore market in Wickenburg, Arizona as a 75-year-old because he had run a little short of retirement money. Thus, if blessed with his luck and health, I'll be back.. --jjh
