I am a young caucasian male and this is my story with Vaso Vascular Syndrome. When I was a child I would pass out from nose bleeds. I would always get nauseous and dizzy when getting a shot, but rarely ever passed out. In rare occasions I would faint after receiving a hard blow to the arm, knee or my funny bone. In my teens I couldn't donate blood or have a blood test without fainting. One day during class in high school I got nauseous while simply watching a movie. I stood up to go to the restroom (I thought I had to throw up). When I made it to the teachers desk to ask permission, I began to experience tunnel vision, my hands clenched and I fainted in a dead fall backwards. I blamed it on my diet that day, mostly carbs and suger- nothing nutritious. Later in life after applying for life insurance I had to give blood. After I signed the legal papers and saw the nurse to the door, I turned around and passed out face first on the kitchen floor. My head bounced on the tile floor, my nose broke and split due to my glasses and I received a concussion. It was after that incident I went to the ER and they ran some tests and for the first time in my life I had been diagnosed with VVS. I hadnt ever heard the term before or known anyone else with it before then. I was 22 years old. The deffiniton I received from the ER nurse was vague and didnt describe my symptoms to the fullest. I still live with uncertainty about it. Anyone I have met since that day, has different symptoms, causes or reactions it seems. This is something that needs to be concluded by research and medical expertise.
