My elder client (age 83) who suffers from dementia, faints often. She is unable to give us her history of fainting and doesn't seem to recognize body language nor cues to a fainting event. I've noticed that mild exertion, being in very hot weather is when fainting episodes have occurred. There have been numerous hospitalizations and tests but all we were told was the cause could be small blood vessels to the brain. So many doctors and different hospitals and no one has suggested tilt table exam. After finding this forum, I'm now wondering if she has vaso-vagal syncope. As a caregiver for this wonderful lady, I need to know how to best care for her. Great site - thanks so much!
