This can be very scary. I have had it also. If you read Katharina Dalton's "Once a Month" you will find information which may help (can get from library). She discusses the drop in blood sugar which can happen during the cycle and how to eat every 3 hours. Sometimes the prostaglandins from menstruation cause severe cramps which might lead to fainting, so taking ibuprophen helps (tho watch for stomach irritation by taking with food or a full glass of water). Eating frequent, small meals is important. Keep up the fluids too, as the cycle can deplete fluids and also iron. A vitamin might also help. I believe the drop in blood volume is a factor during the cycle. Hope this helps.
