I'm concerned about the amount of atenolol. Her doctor should have started her on a much lower dose (and then increased it) as that med lowers blood pressure - which is what commonly happens when people blackout and can make it _worse_. Betablockers made mine much much worse. You should try water - keep her well hydrated and adding salt in a controlled manner can help too.
Ideally you need to be keeping a diary of all of her attacks and record exactly what she is doing, how long for and how she is feeling. You need to do it for quite a long period. There will be a pattern there eventually, but you must be strict about the recording. You need to include her symptoms too - how does she feel when she blacks out? Dose she hurt herself etc.
I found the diary really helpful for me. It has enabled me to identify triggers. I wouldn't never have guessed for example glucose made me worse (I can't tolerate caffine either).
Best of luck, Becca.
