My 9 year old son had his blood drawn this week laying down for the first time. Just as he was over he turned completely white and his eyes were wide open blankly staring at the ceiling. His body was somewhat ridgid. His back then arched and his arms shook as if he was having a seizure of some sort...this went on for about 20 seconds. When he came to, he was extremely hot and sweaty and had an upset stomach. Dr came back in after the nurse ran out clueless and called it a vaso vagel reaction and said he would be fine in 20 minutes and that this happens more than we think. Is there any dr out there that can assure me the seizure was still a part of the vaso vagel reaction? It scared me so bad and I felt so helpless just watching him go thru it.
