I had my first VV sttack while swimming when I was 10 years old - in nine feet of water. Luckily someone noticed as I went under! I wasn't diagnosed until 40 years and many attacks later. My experience is that an attack can happen anywhere when I'm dehydrated and having abdominal cramps. (Yes, you CAN get dehydrated while swimming - you need to keep chugging some water!!) Luckily I've learned to feel it coming on so driving is safe for me. Best wishes to everyone checking out this site. It took the embarassment and fear away for me - because 1) it's real and 2) we can cope. When my doctor said there's nothing he can do, it wasn't a brushoff --just the truth. What a relief.
