Dear DR. Herr,

My 19 y/o daughter has been having syncope since January. She also has muffled hearing in her right ear. She was refered to a ENT who thought maybe she had a Glomus Tumor in her ear. She had a MRI/MRA She also saw a cardiologist who did a echo and holter moniter.Testing done 2 days ago. This am (she is a Army Soldier) while at drill she called to say they were taking her to the hospital,a PA talked to me and said her right pupil was "blown" and non reactive. Her crainal nerves were intact. She did pass out after running 2 miles. All test came back normal. She is having syncope t least 3 times per week, with chest pain. Echo was normal, have not got results from Holter Moniter. I am a RN with years experience and this just blows my mind! My friend a neuro surgeon said he thinks she is very vagal sensitive, to the extent that using a q-tip in her ears could cause her to pass out.Which in fact a md flushed her ears and she did have a syncopal episode on the spot. Where do we go from here. My aunt died this past fall from vasal vagal syncope.Paula paular63@yahoo.com
