Hi Bob,
I have IBS as well as collapsing (though mine has been diagnosed with a particular variant of syncope and not VV).
Does your wife take any meds for the IBS? For me when my bowel spasms that can trigger collapse (I've heard the vagal nerve is sensitive to bowel spasms though that could just be a load of rubbish!). I have found Fybogel (isphagula husk) helps a lot and I've also been taking IBS medications that have mebervine hydrochloride they both can help with the spasms.
Becca.
