Does your company have any form of Long Term Disability Plan? The reason I ask is because my vaso vagal condition caused an identical situation to yours. In effect, I was driving my company vehicle at 60 mph's when all of a sudden I blacked out. My job required dialy driving of company vehicle so company Management decided there was no way they could accept the liability of my condition due to job requirements of driving vehicle. I was put on my companys Long Term Disabilty Plan which satisfied their liabilty issues while at the same time satisfied my financial issues as opposed to being out of a job. Subsequently, I was also awarded Security Disability an approximate 2 1/2 years after applying. The Social Security Disabilty process is a maze of red tape and paperwork and I would recommend having a company which specializes in filing for Social Security Disabilty do it for you. Again, the best case scenario is for your company to have a Long Term Disability Plan available for you to utilize unless you want them to find you a desk job within the company.
