I don't know about the period part since I am a male. I do know however that a vvs responce can come from a fever (happened to me) and from pain ie. nurses that can't find the pain (happened to me as well) I have also experianced a responce when I drink red wine, get anywhere close to illegal smoke. The symptoms are the same, the result is as usual. If I don't ly down with my feet way above my head, I'll be out within 10 seconds.
