V V reactions and "dumping syndrome"

the other day I was at work - perfectly fine - had just had one bite of a breakfast sandwich. The next thing I was sweating profusely - I mean soaking - "puffing up" - and definitely going down for the count. I was only half coherent. After sitting down and waiting a minute or two, I realized it wasn't stopping and had someone call an ambulance. Paramedics could not get a pulse eventhough I was "awake" - blood pressure down to 90/60. They said I had edema of all extremeties, face and neck. I couldn't sit, stand or walk. Couldn't communicate well. They gave me a shot of benedryl in case of allergic reaction to something in the sandwich and carried me to the ambulance. 2 IVs went in, but could not take blood sample from hand - couldn't get any veins. After release, went home to rest - very, very tired. Large amount of red blood present in bowel movement. Often feel very tired and need to lay down shortly after eating, but not all the time. Doctor in ER not concerned and implied that I should "stop eating" - I had ONE BITE of food. The nurse said my blood pressure went sky high 217/130 after arriving at the hospital and I could have died. Has anyone else had an episode like this and what were you told about it? Thanks for reading.
