After going on a diet and exposing myself to extreme physical, emotional, and chemical stress I had all of the following symptoms for 5 months:
- Orthrastatic Hypotension - Hypotension - Hypertension at times - Muscle Cramps - Hypoglycemia - Constant Fatigue and Weakness - especially when walking or standing - Increased time to recover from illness - especially weak during illness, can hardly walk - Nausea for no apparent reason - Easily become dehydrated even though drinking proper fluids during the day - Near Syncope & fainting spells - Unexplained Dirahhea - Increase White Blood Cell count (Lymphocytes) - Craving for salt and salt loss - Decreased tolerance for cold - Abdominal pains (Lower Left) - Blood in stool - Feels like whole body is going to fall over sometimes - Rapid heartrate at different times - Shakyness - Tingling sensations - Shortness of breath at different times - Chest pains sometimes - Difficulty concentrating - Blured vision - Mild depression - Body temp is always 95 to 97.5 degrees - Stamina does not improve with exercise - Apathetic feelings - Anxiety attacks - Stress headaches - Insomnia - Nasal Congestion and runny nose (comes and goes) - Cough (comes and goes) - Frequent urination
Doctors had me do the tilt table test to which I failed in 5 minutes. They diagnosed me with Vaso Vagal malfunction and told me it would go away as I got older. After seeing several specialists I finally went to a Chiropractor who examined my walk and took x-rays of my spine to tell me it was way out of line. Spinal misalignment causes it to cut off the nerve supply to your organs and a number of symptoms arise from this. This puts your body under great physical stress. I believe here is where the adrenal glands get fatigued and cause that electrolyte imbalance between salt and potassium. I've been seeing a Chirporactor for 1 month now and have significantly improved.
I would suggest looking into all of the following to help you cure this, and ignore those doctors who tell you it will not work:
1. Chiropractor - They can see if your spine is out of alignment causing the problems with your posture. 2. Invest in the book "Adrenal Fatigue, the 21 Century Stress Syndrome" - your adrenal glands are always involved in stress and can cause the postural low blood pressure because of the hormone aldosterne. If nothing else this book is a very good insight into how your body handles stress. 3. Seek a Neurologist - this is a nerve and they are the experts, however, I'd advise the Chiropractor first.
Yes, this is probably a stress realted illness and the fact is medical science is ignoring it, because they think the only way to fix something is with drugs or surgery.
Hopefully this information helps someone else, that is why I'm posting it. Good Luck, I know how nasty this is to try to live with.
