Vaso-Vagal

From: Gail in Colorado

Comments

My most recent experience was this past Tuesday, after having had catteract surgery the day before. I went into the doctors office for a follow-up and after having the shield and tape removed from my eye, I felt the blackness coming, I broke out in a cold sweat, felt as if I would throw up, and passed out, after coming to, I was sick at my stomach. Past experiences were worse, making the medical personnel think I was going into shock. I usally lose all bodily functions. I always thought it was caused by pain, but after this past Tuesday, I'm leaning more toward the nervous system. I'm a 61 yr. old female, and have had this happen to me at least three times starting in my twenties. It is very scary!!!, but you're right, the doctors don't take it very seriously. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
