I actually need salt...I think!

okay so i was diagnosed with VAsoVgal about a year ago and have horrible spells where when i get up i can't see and i have passed out in the shower many times. i also get a wierd buzzing sensaton in my hands...any ways i heard that eating salt helps...Well the fact of the matter is I am obsessed with salt, ever since i was little i drowned my food in salt and when i was on a diet about a year ago and cut out nearly all my salt thats when it started to happen...my parents moniter my salt intake now cuz they think thats whats causing my spells, but im telling them that the salt helps...am i wrong?
