MY DAUGHTER HAS ALWAYS BEEN EXTREMELY HEALTHY AND ACTIVE. SHE IS ON RITALIN FOR ADHD. LAST SUMMER BEGAN THE FAINTING FOR APPARENTLY NO REASON. THE FIRST EPISODE IN AUG. OF 2004 HAPPENED WHILE WE WERE STANDING IN LINE AT BANK. SHE SAID MOMMY, IT'S HOT IN HERE AND MY STOMACH HURTS. THEN SHE WENT COMPLETELY PALE WITH A DAZED LOOK IN HER EYES AND WENT LIMP AND FAINTED IN MY ARMS. I SCREAMED AND PARAMEDICS CAME AND TOOK HER TO HOSPITAL. SOME BLOOD TESTS WERE DONE AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS DEHYDRATION. WHICH NEVER SAT RIGHT WITH ME. SO I BEGAN TO THINK IT WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. THEN IN FEB. 2005, I WAS DOING HER HAIR WHILE SHE WAS STANDING AND THE SAME EXACT THINGS HAPPENED. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO SCARED. ANOTHER TRIP TO THE HOSPITAL SINCE I DID NOT THINK A CHILD SHOULD BE FAINTING FOR NO REASON. I WANTED TO KNOW WHY AND STOP IT FROM EVER HAPPENING AGAIN. THE ER DOCTOR DID EKG AND ALOT OF OTHER TESTS. HE THOUGHT VASO VAGAL AND SAID SHE SHOULD BE EVALUATED BY A CARDIOLOGIST. THE CARDIOLOGIST SAID HER HEART IS FINE AND THAT I SHOULD GIVE HER GATORAID AND A HIGH SALT DIET. THEN LAST NIGHT SHE STARTED TO FEEL ONE COME ON AND I HAD HER LAY DOWN ...SHE WAS CLAMMY AND WE PREVENTED A FULL FAINT. SHE IS SCARED AND SO AM I. FIRST I WONDERED IF THE RITALIN COULD BE RESPONISBLE BUT THE DOCTORS SAID NO. I WONDER IF THERE IS A LINK TO STRESS AND THE FAINT. ANY ADVICE OR EXPERIENCES WITH ESPECIALLY CHILDREN WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
