Vaso-Vagal

Hi, my name is Suzie and I am 27 years old. I had experienced my first blackout when I was nineteen years old. I was so unbelievably scared. I had no idea of why that had happened. I kind of blew it off even though my family and friends thought I should consult a doctor. Well, needless to say now the blackouts were happening at least 3 to 4 times a month. I constantly kept tearing holes in my pants when I fell and would sometimes get my knees and elbows banged up.I thought I had a sugar problem because I usually felt like I needed to eat right before this happened. I also would feel like I was going to vommit and would need to lay or sit down immeditately. The blackouts happened mainly in the morning, but not always. I finally decided to see a doctor about it, because I had lost about 20 pounds in 1 month and felt like I couldn't be a normal teenager with my friends. I never knew when I may have a fainting spell. I could feel it coming on. The first sign would be that I was hungary, then nausea, then dizzy, then my legs would become weak ,then all I would see is black and I would pass out. I can't even explain how many different doctor's that I had been too that offered little help or ran so many tests but could not find out what was wrong with me. Finally I went to a doctor who I had never been to before and he right away ran tests and diagnoised me with a vagal disorder. So many people I talk to have never heard of it. I have been put on Lexapro at a 20mg dosage and it seems to be helping alot. I wish I would have met this doctor 8 years ago. To me he is my lifesaver. Hopefully this medicine continues to work so well. I couldn't be happier to have found something to help. It makes me feel somewhat normal again!! Thanks
