Vaso Vagal Response????

I'm looking for feedback from anyone else who has had these episodes....start from the beginning, I am 36 years old. I'd say my first "episode" was about 10 years ago, give or take. It happened (not to be gross!) while I was having a bowel movement. Suddenly the normal abdominal cramps associated with this activity became so severe it felt like an alien was trying to exit my stomach! Then the room starting spinning like mad. It was all I could do to hold on to the tub and counter because I had no strength left in my body. I was literally holding myself up on the commode. Then I broke out in a full body cold sweat and the pain disappeared and the symptoms left as quickly as the came. I felt like my body had been through a war for five minutes or so afterwards. Whole episode didn't last more than a few minutes although it felt like an eternity. No other symptoms afterwards either...just disappeared as quickly as it came on. Well, thought it was a freak incident and about a year later I had another one. I've had a handful of these experiences and they all happened in the bathroom exactly like the first time. Well, just recently I had the EXACT same episode as a result of taking a large gulp of soda too quickly. I couldn't catch my breath, went right into the abdominal pain, dizziness, cold sweat, next thing I knew I was waking up on the kitchen floor with one heck of a bump on my head! My doctor was not alarmed and said I simply had a vago vasal reflex incident and it runs through entire GI so can be triggered by eating/drinking or by a bowel movement. She said she hears it often and alot of people pass out right on the commode. This was my first time actually passing out and it scared me. Two weeks later and my head still hurts. Now everytime I swallow soda I am fully aware of every swallow! I guess my concern (and not that I don't trust my doctor because I DO but everyone is human) is that it possibly might be more serious than my doctor indicated and I didn't really think this until I searched and found so much info on line. I'm reading seizures, heart related, etc. and I'm wondering if anyone has had these episodes and what they've been told about them? Not once did I read where anyone experienced pain during these triggers and i have to say PAIN was definiteley the predominant factor aside from the dizziness. Any feedback appreciated!!!!
