Memory Loss

In 1995, I was misdiagnosed with a seizure disorder and placed on a anticonvulsant. In 2001 I was rediagnosed with neurocardiogenic syncopy as well as a vaso-vagal response (20+ a month). I now have a pacemaker and have not fainted since. I do, however have "spells" (the same symptoms that do not result in fainting). I had experienced some long-term memory retrieval and loss and some short-term memory retrieval and resently, loss. Is this normal? Perminent? Can I do anything besides modify my life (write EVERYTHING down...) Should I be worried?
